Heavensward is coming and that means there will be a new end-game content. As we all know, that would be Alexander! We suspect that the loot system will be a loot lockout system, just like Crystal Tower, and the group can run multiple of times just to get one loot. Unfortunately, I (Dolce) will be dropping out of the Goron Static once Heavensward comes out. I will be passing the leadership roles to Alalgudo and Bloodfiend, so they will be the ones managing the static. Sorry for any inconvenience and I'm truly am. I don't have enough time and energy to be in two statics, but this doesn't mean I can't sub in on some days!
There's still quite a bit of time until Heavensward, but I want to see what others are thinking right now. This page is for everyone to discuss about their thoughts.
My question for you guys is... would you rather:
a) Finish up Coil
or
b) Start on the new Alex raid as soon as Alex is available
Let me know what you think and suggestions are always welcomed!
Some questions that were asked:
Q: How quickly are we expected to level our main class?
A: Alexander won't be accessible two weeks from the official release date (June 23rd). It is highly recommended that you have your main class levelled within that time frame.
Q: Is Alexander 8 man or 24?
A: It is 8.
I feel I go either way. It would be cool to finish up Coils, but I'm interested in the new content and Alexander. So it wouldn't bother me if the group wanted to go onto Alexander. Honestly, just getting to play up to T9 so far was more then I expected to experience. I also already know what happens in the Coil story. But yeah, I'm down for whatever! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm pretty flexible to other days, though sometimes I may get scheduled to work or have a project deadline pop up. And how quickly would be expected to level? I do want to take my time to enjoy Heavenwards and maybe level a new job, but I know everyone is going to want to get into Alexander when it's available.
typo *And how quickly would we be expected to level?
DeleteHope this helps, but Alexander won't be accessible two weeks from official release date (June 23rd). So you have two weeks to level up your main so that the group could go into Alexander!
DeleteYes that helps, thank you! 2 weeks seems like reasonable time (depending on work). But like Greyson I'm torn between wanting to level BRD quickly and taking my time to enjoying everything. But we shall see~ I say this now, but I know I'll be hooked and up super late >___>;;
DeleteAlso I'm in favor of the suggestion of doing half and half, the best of both worlds! I felt torn between my first comment because everyone has worked very hard towards our progress up to this point, so it would feel awesome to have that under our belts! And as for Alexander, getting to experience it without any previous knowledge would be refreshing~
I'm interested in finishing Coils, but if we get stuck in T13 for more than 2 weeks I think it's better we just try Alex or alternate between the two.
ReplyDeleteAs for time... Well, I have a final exam week, so probably won't raid then. Then the first 2 weeks of July are rather busy, but after that I think I can make it on all days of the week, until September (I don't know what my September schedule is like).
That's fine! Not a lot of us can predict/know our schedules that far in advance. I'll try to remember your final date ~~
DeleteI understand, but I am super bumed you won't be in our raid team Dolce.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to what I want to get from this I am conflicted. On the one hand I want to take my super sweet time with the story. On the other I want to be the hardest hitting Monk in the game and I want it yesterday! I don't think we should ditch coils but I do want to play new content so maybe we could do half and half?
In regards to new classes I will be trying the especially gun chap, but I am in no rush with them. Monk all the way as main while still having a play around with my sch and smn.
Again, I will really miss you in our group Dolce <3
Thank you for such a heart warming comment, Greyson. I am quite bummed myself that I can't really raid with you all full-time. As always, if you guys ask me beforehand for subs during Heavensward time, I will come ~ ^__^
DeleteSeems like the idea of splitting coils + Alex half and half is getting popular. I also do feel like you guys shouldn't ditch coils either, but it's not a bad idea to start with Alex when things are new and you can get a real authentic experience of DPS checks!
Well we still have about a month until Alexander so we can just keep doing coils until then, but when alex comes out I think we should try and get through him as soon as we can. When we're done beating up alex then we can continue again with coil while waiting for new content patches??
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem like a bad idea really. Doing Alexander and then head back in coils to finish up the story. Waiting for new patches while beating all contents can make the game bland and boring ~
DeleteI like this idea, too.
DeleteI'm so very, very tired from moving right now, so I'll leave it at that. I'll comment more later!
Hey guys! I am at work now and won't be on tonight until after 10. I'm really sorry for all my absences, my IRL has been crazy these past couple months with a new job and just moved the 1st of this month. It will all be evening out soon though and I will be able to put down a schedule. I will have to change my available times on some weeks though as I will randomly be working until 930 on some raid days. I do get a month schedule (which I just got) so I will figure out these times.
ReplyDeleteOn to the topic. For Heavenwards I will be going for Drk so I will get that leveled and geared as fast as possible, I was holding off on gearing warrior as I was looking forward to possible Main as Drk since my deeps are lame as Blm XD.
I like the idea of going half and half, as we will probably want to mix in some dreadwyrm gear with the new stuff, so hardcore Alex runs for everyone then the rest of the week play in the finals.
does anyone know if Alexander would be an 8-man party or 24alliance? If its alliance then we can try to get Cucco and Goron together and throw together another party from LS's and be able to run together.
Once again I'm very sorry for my absence and short notice. I will do everything I can to get word to you faster, but hopefully just not miss anymore >.< Pwn strong my Homies!
Alexander is 8 man as it is the end-game raid, not 24 ~ thank you so much for trying to reach us and leaving a message! This is greatly appreciated and more importantly, don't feel bad that your IRL stuff is getting in the way of raiding. It happens!!
DeleteSweet! I'm excited to see how Drk works as a tank. Totes understand about the moving/schedule change stuff. Looking forward to clearing Alexander with everyone!
DeleteI was just winderinh, would it be possible or take up to much space if maybe we had somewhere on the site to organize our raid plans? At the moment we gorons seem to be going more off roumers than any real info as to when and what we are doing for our raids and stuff. :(
ReplyDeleteSorry about the typos. Also I realize here was supposed to be about end game stuff but even just an update or schedule as to whay we might do each day would be really appreciated.
DeleteThankies :3
I vote we farm ex primals for weps in time for Alex, we can do coil on the side or if we get tired of other stuff. That way it is still on the to do list but we are not falling behind.
