Help is always appreciated in Ocarina, but who would really benefit your help are animals in need. Numerous of animals are being held in cages, brutally tortured, and/or mentally abused. Even if you cannot donate a small amount of money, it is also valuable that you have learned some hard truths about animal cruelty. If there are other animals that you’re passionate about and you know a trustworthy organization, feel free to comment below. All these organizations I have listed below have been thoroughly researched and/or have gone through the Charity Navigator site.
Here are some animals you can donate and support:
Elephants are one of the most intelligent mammals in the world. They are incredibly social and they’re one of the few animals that could mourn for their lost friends. Unfortunately, elephants are being hunted for their tusks or they’re living in horrible conditions as money making machines. Please stop supporting circuses that have animals in them, especially Ringling Circus. The harsh reality for these dashing fellows is not at all pretty, but it is truly heartbreaking.
Elephants trained to paint or act in circuses are immediately pulled away from their mothers at birth. Elephants are taken away from their mother at birth and they are either chained up or confined in a cage. As the trainers are training the newborn elephants, they tie elephants down and force them to do the tricks. The more they scream and struggle; the more beatings they get from their trainers and this includes using bullocks and shocking them with electric prods.
Don’t believe it? See the album yourself.
A heartbreaking video of a circus elephant.
Not convinced? Read the post with a traumatizing photo.
Last but not least, another video to ruin your day.
Organizations you should support:
Save Elephant Foundation (related to Elephant Nature Park)

Things you should NEVER support:
Ringling Circus and other animal training circuses (in general)
Elephant Paintings (goes through similar trainings as Ringling elephants)
Elephant Trekking
UPDATE as of 2018:
A HUGE thank you to China for stepping up and banning ivory sales (read here). Not only did they banned shark fins, but this ban could possibly help out the elephant population!

These adorable fuzzy nocturnal creatures are currently being targeted
in the illegal pet trade of Indonesia. These animals have a specific diet and uneducated
pet owners often struggle to keep these creatures alive. Without proper
nutrition, these slow lorises will become obese or have serious health issues;
for example, bone diseases.
Poachers would catch these slow lorises and confine them into small cages. To avoid getting venom from these fuzzballs, poachers would use nail clippers, pliers, or wire cutters to cut out their teeth. This inhumane procedure is done WITHOUT any aesthetics, and in most cases, these slow lorises would get infections or even bleed to death. As they are transported to the illegal markets, these lorises become increasingly stressed and that often kills the lorises before they are even sold. By purchasing a slow loris as a pet, they are one step closer to extinction.

Tickling slow lorises is NOT cute, here is a short video for you to watch.
Photo of a slow loris getting its teeth clipped. Does that make you sick yet?
A tickled slow loris looks like this. Does this look like it is enjoying?

Organizations you should support (unfortunately I can only find one):
International Animal Rescue - buy 1 syringe to save a life of a slow loris
Do not ever purchase or think of having a Slow Loris pet. Please stop the trade and leave the lorises alone.
Like elephants, rhinoceroses are victims of being poached for their horns. It is believed that their horn powder could cure cancer, help with hangovers, and other medical beliefs. Science had ALREADY proved that the horns provide 0 nutrients and medical support, yet their horns are still being removed. Poachers would capture the rhinos and saw off their horns, and quite often, they're cutting off as much as they can for a bigger profit. As a result, this ends up cutting deep into the rhino's face (think of their horns like your finger nails, if you cut too deep, you're cutting your flesh), causing the injury to be infected and leaving the rhino to die painfully.
Can't imagine how bad it could be? Take a look at this photo of a rhinoceros without a horn (warning - graphic).
Need more proof? Here's another photo of a rhinoceros that survived the poachers attacked, but it's face is deformed.
In 2017, poachers decided to attack a sanctuary just to dehorn/kill the living animals. Is this not messed up? Where is the justice in this?
I can give you at least one bittersweet story though. This very lucky doting mother, who was a victim of poaching, survives and raises her baby.
Organizations you should support:
International Rhino Foundation
African Wildlife Foundation - They also support elephants and other animals.
Khama Rhino Sanctuary - If you want to see live rhinos, support this sanctuary.
I do believe one of the most common breed for dogs that often gets misunderstood is pit bulls. We often hear from medias there are pit bull attacks, but they barely talk about other breeds when they attack people or other animals. Not only from the news, but pit bulls (or any other aggressive looking dogs) are often used as "bad guys" in children's movies.
I don't think many people understand that pit bulls can actually be docile, you just need to put in the effort and patience to train them. This can be said for all breeds which includes Golden Retrievers, as many people think these dogs are cute and obedient 100% of the time.
NEVER blame the breed, ALWAYS blame the owners.
Pit bulls are commonly used as bait dogs and fighting dogs. Injuries can be pretty severe, and once their conditions worsen, they get toss away in the streets.
Another bait pit bull was rescued, but her ear had to be permanently removed due to her severe injuries. Yet she looks like a sweet pup, are you going to tell me this dog is aggressive?
An abused pit bull had her face completely disfigured. She was used as a bait training dog, which is a training dummy for other pit bulls. Her teeth were pulled out so she cannot fight back. Her twisted snout was due to a savage attack from her previous owner.
Again, if you're still believing that pit bulls are naturally aggressive, then you are quite ignorant. Considering that these dogs had gone through severe torture and still give unconditional love to their new owners? Shame on you.

American Pit Bull Foundation
Of course there are other animals that would need your help. But before you donate your money for good cause, I highly suggest you to check your organization with this charity navigator, and to see if they are legit or not.
