Hey friends, just going to do a quick blog post tonight! I'm currently taking a break from submarine crafting, because if I don't, some pouty lady will come lecture me ∑(゚∇゚|||) Anyway, today's post is mostly me reviewing movies that I had recently watched with Aikia, Kiriya, Ubi, Sas, and Neru.
Before I begin, here's a huge warning.
If you have not watched Monster Hunter movie and Demon Slayer The Movie, then do NOT continue.
The first movie I want to shit on is the Monster Hunter one. It wasn't an entertaining bad movie, it was just god awful. If you haven't seen this movie or the trailer, it's basically American soldiers being teleported into a Monster Hunter world...somehow?
None of the character got development. You got an English speaking chick trying to communicate with a MH warrior that speaks in another language. For whatever reason, they decided to fist fight each other and then suddenly became friends. LIKE WHAT'S GOING ON ಠ_ಠ?
AND SOMEHOW, MODERN WEAPON CANNOT PIERCE THROUGH ANY OF THE MONSTERS ಠ_ಠ? LIKE WHAT IS THIS LOGIIIIIIC!?!?!?!?!?! This movie hurt my brain because it was so awful and nothing made sense. For 90% of the movie, you're dealing with Black Diablos. Then the 10% is Rathalos, like what? ರ╭╮ರ Also for a full hour of the movie, there were spiders, so that was NOT fun.
If you haven't watched this movie, please DON'T. I warned you.
The next movie we watched was the new Demon Slayer movie. Let me get this straight, I do not hate Demon Slayer, I'm just not into the storytelling and I genuinely do not understand the hype for this movie. I have heard the last arc was really amazing and a lot of the characters get their ass fuuuuucked.
I sort of understand why people like Rengoku. His character design stands out a lot for me and I don't mean it in a bad way. He did not come off as a "generic" flame/fire element swordsman, at least to me. At first, his eyes were a little intense, but I grew to like them. His character overall is alright, I like him enough, but I am not too attached to him like his fanbase.
I just like how Tanjiro and Rengoku are being kawaii together, it's like...they're completely setting up some BL fanservices here (๑꧆◡꧆๑) I do not care for the other two characters because I don't understand their roles aside for comedic purposes...
Tanjiro's character still comes off vanilla for a shounen protagonist. I still have trouble getting attached to him or find a reason to continue this series. Sadly, I liked Rengoku more than Tanjiro, does that say much?
Like I said, Rengoku's eyes are eye catching. Even in this scene, how the sun light hits his eyes, how are the colors not pretty ಥ_ಥ?
Personally, I thought the movie was alright, I would give it a C+/B. I'm giving it an acceptable rating because the art and animation was gorgeous. I did enjoy watching this movie, I just don't know how it beat Spirited Away. The pacing for the movie was okay, the beginning might have been slow, but it picks up. The best part is definitely the last half, the fighting scene was just really cool. If Demon Slayer did not have terrible humor and had better pacing, I would've continued with the anime/manga.
I am probably biased because this year (and probably my most highly rated anime movie of all time) is Made in Abyss third movie. ヾ(@^∇^@)ノYes, I highly recommend people watching Made in Abyss and I'll never shut up about it.
